What does the week look like
You will arrive during the weekend and will have time to rest and/or sight see. On Sunday we will go for a bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge and return by ferry, this optional group activity is followed by a Welcome Dinner in North Beach - the Italian neighborhood of San Francisco. The official program runs Monday - Friday throughout. We will meet 3 or more experienced entrepreneurs and professionals every day, and allow time for reflection. Each day ends when the last session concludes. The program ends with a closing Night Out in downtown San Francisco. Travel dates are May 11 - May 19 '19.
Who is the organizer of this trip
The San Francisco-based host and organizer is (LinkedIn) Oliver Binkhorst. Oliver had tours of duty at several startups in various roles in Europe, Asia, and the US, and is a recruiter & advisor to emerging and growth-stage companies.
What is DutchTechSF
DutchTechSF [DTSF] is a semi-closed network of Dutch-American entrepreneurs, executives, and venture capital investors, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our collective experience spans all aspects of growing successful companies - from the formative stage to management of multi-billion dollar enterprises: (Het Financieele Dagblad) Silicon Valley heeft eindelijk zijn Hollandse Club.
Am I eligible for this program
This program is ideally suited for graduate students with an interest in entrepreneurship and/or science & engineering. Undergraduate students are also welcome and encouraged to apply. A diverse group of no more than 20 participants will be selected out of a nationwide pool of applicants.
What is included
Your participation includes full access to the trip, company visits, Talks, limousine bus transportation, meals as provided, one-day bike rental and ferry crossing, return flights departing from Amsterdam, 2-star Trip Advisor-rated comfortable accommodations in San Francisco.
How much does it cost to participate
The full fee to participate is €2,500. Apply before February 24th 2019 for the early adopters’ fee of €2,250. As of February 24th, the full fee will apply. You can bring one friend at a 10% discount (additional referrals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis). Please budget €250 - €500 for personal expenses including meals. Keep in mind that you need a valid ESTA visa to enter the United States. If needed, a Letter of Invitation for your visa application will be provided.
What is the admissions process
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Once your application is approved, you will receive instructions for payment followed by information about travel arrangements. Your participation is confirmed when payment is received.
I can not pay the full fee, is financial aid offered
There is a limited amount of financial aid available for applicants from low-income, economically disadvantaged families, and offered to those who demonstrate need. All applicants are expected to be entrepreneurial and creative in funding their participation.
